Who we are

Golden Eagle Audubon Society is Southwest Idaho’s chapter of the National Audubon Society, based in Boise, Idaho. We offer birding trips for all ages, monthly educational presentations, and community science programs. Our members also work towards the conservation of birds and other wildlife and participate in the restoration of public lands. Golden Eagle Audubon Society is dedicated to offering a majority of our programming for free. Many programs and events are open to the public. Learn more.

Stewardship isn't optional: Let's put native plants on the landscape

Stewardship is not an option. At Golden Eagle Audubon we’ve been caring for the land that supports birds, wildlife and people for 54 years.

In southwest Idaho and beyond, we are experiencing landscape changes and pressures as never before. With massive wildfires, expanding development, explosions of weeds and changing weather patterns, it is very challenging for birds and other wildlife to sustain themselves and flourish. Research shows that the lack of suitable habitat is the main reason why bird populations continue to decline. If you love the sound of birdsong, and love seeing them in the river, at your feeder and in the sky, YOU can help.

We are responding to landscape changes and habitat needs by growing native plants and providing them to our partners to plant on public lands.
