Acerca de esta organización
City Wildlife is the District of Columbia's only wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center. It was founded in 2008 by Anne Lewis and Jim Monsma and our volunteer-led programs Lights Out DC and Duck Watch were established in 2010 and 2013, respectively. Since opening our doors in 2013, we have cared for over 17,100 sick, orphaned, and injured animals and over 300 different animal species. We have also encouraged the appreciation of native wildlife and promoted harmonious coexistence between humans and wildlife, while seeking to protect the District of Columbia's wild habitats. The purpose of City Wildlife's three-year strategic plan is to provide a clear, focused, and implementable roadmap to guide action and drive measurable results, and to ensure the long-term sustainability of City Wildlife's mission and operations. City Wildlife protects and advocates for wildlife and wildlife habitat through rehabilitation for release, public education, and community engagement.
