Acerca de esta organización
Over the past few years, GreenLatinos has grown significantly, and our impact speaks for itself. This includes convening our largest ever GreenLatinos National Summit, bringing together more than300 advocates in Puerto Rico to share strategies, strengthen relationships, and celebrate our cultura. In October of 2024, we hosted our annual GreenLatinos Advocacy Week in Washington, D.C., engaging our members in critical policy conversations, training, and celebration - culminating in our GreenLatinos Live! Award Ceremony. That week also marked the release of the second edition of our Latino Climate Justice Framework, a roadmap built by and for our community, helping to shape federal priorities as we head into a pivotal year. 2024 also saw us launch two new intermediary fund programs - the Urban Greening Initiative and the Urban Community Forestry Program. Through these initiatives, 12 organizations in Los Angeles, Albuquerque, and Chicago have received $2.65 million in funding, while 18 municipalities secured $11.5 million in USDA Urban Forestry grants. We're now making an additional $8.5million available for community based organizations in AZ, NM, IL, CA, PR and the Virgin Islands.
