Riverlife is a nonprofit organization formed to lead a community vision for the redevelopment of Pittsburgh's downtown riverfronts. Riverlife's mission is to create, activate, and celebrate Pittsburgh's riverfronts. Over the past twenty-five years, Riverlife has worked with developers, property owners, and neighborhood groups to create the very best riverfront experience for Pittsburghers and our visitors: beautiful waterfront parks, public trails, greenways and open spaces, boat docks, recreational amenities and world-class design. At Riverlife, we envision a Pittsburgh where thriving world-class riverfronts are essential to the region and belong to everyone.

Riverlife has worked to build a 15-mile, 1,050-acre loop of riverfront public open spaces and experiences centered around the heart of downtown Pittsburgh. While the loop is roughly 85% connected, significant gaps remain in the riverfront experience. Riverlife continues our work to find solutions for those missing links and to elevate the loop to world-class standards. Riverlife invests in capital projects, strategic planning, community programming, and sustainable care and maintenance strategies to realize its vision.
