Enabled Emissions Campaign

The Enabled Emissions Campaign addresses a major blind spot in climate action: how advanced technologies including AI, IoT, HPC, and cloud are being used to accelerate fossil fuel production. While much of the current discussion about AI and climate focuses on operational impacts such as datacenters, the Campaign examines a different and often overlooked issue: how these technologies are embedded across fossil fuel exploration, drilling, reservoir modeling, and production to make oil and gas expansion cheaper, faster, and less risky. It works to expand public understanding of this overlooked climate impact and to advance stronger accountability, disclosure, and policy responses for uses of advanced technology that create climate impacts well beyond their operational footprints.
