Washington Wildlife First

Earth Gives is happening NOW!

Through October 5, we're part of #EarthGives, a nationwide campaign working to bring more people into environmental giving. Today, only about 4% of charitable giving supports environmental and animal giving. Earth Gives is a nationwide initiative to inspire generosity and engagement with nonprofits advancing solutions for YOU, your FAMILIES, and our FUTURES.

Who We Are

Washington Wildlife First is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming Washington's approach to fish and wildlife policy. We're committed to shifting the state's wildlife policy from an exploitation-driven model to a science-grounded, democratic framework that prioritizes care, consideration, and respect for wild animals and their ecosystems. We believe that wildlife policy should reflect the values of all Washingtonians, not just special interests, and we're working to bring about a paradigm shift in how our state approaches wildlife protection.

Our Fight for Wildlife and Democracy

The struggle for wildlife protection is inextricably linked to the fight for democracy. When the leadership of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) silences advocates and pushes policies that benefit only special interests, they threaten the foundations of our democratic process.

We're Taking a Stand

Every donation counts in our fight for:

• Transparency and accountability in wildlife governance
• Policies that reflect the values of all Washingtonians, not just special interests
• Protection for wildlife and the ecosystems they inhabit

Your Donation Will Help Us

• Continue to push back against WDFW's efforts to silence wildlife advocates
• Amplify the voices of those who care about wildlife protection
• Demand systemic reform of state wildlife policy
