Cyndi's DESERT ABUNDANCE Fundraiser

Because of your generous donations last year, in November we will be installing our gravity fed water system.  With climate change upon us, we can no longer count on the seasonal rains to grow our food, much as the indigenous peoples did. We will continue to harvest rain water that nature gives us, but to grow consistent crops we need some supplemental water to our drought tolerant seed varieties.

THIS YEAR WE ARE FUNDRAISING FOR:

Minimal water deliveries

Expansion of fenced garden areas and to hire a farm manager from the local community to maintain the crops and experiment with successful seed varieties.

Installation of our own tall pots nursery to grow an abundance of native trees  in which to add to the species richness of our site and to give away to our neighbors.

Expand our educational events and materials offering information on agroforestry methods and successful crop varieties as well as how to harvest and prepare nutritious native desert plants.

We are committed to the goal of growing highly nutritious food that does not disturb the intact ecosystem, uses the least amount of supplemental water and thrives in the hot, dry desert ; and figuring it out as we go.  This is your chance to be a part of this experiment, to discover solutions to supply enough food for our growing global population in the face of climate change.

Please give now, and consider joining us on the Site for one of our future working or educational events!
