Help Karin save the world!

Two years ago, my husband Mike and I became grandparents - what an eye-opener!!!  We have been environmentalists all our lives, starting as young as these little boys, Alden (right) and Hudson (left).  Growing up in New York (Karin) and Pennsylvania (Mike), we learned at a very young age that OUTSIDE was the place to be.  We played in woods, waterways, and other wild areas and grew up taking care of these places.  As young adults, we went to college to continue our education in wildlife and conservation and carried on with environmental work.  We taught our children (Jesse and Ethan) about the outdoors, looking under rocks and logs, taking them camping and swimming in lakes.  Now, we have grandchildren who LOVE being outdoors, too - we're incredibly thankful!

I've always enjoyed volunteering (anyone who knows me can attest to that!)   A year ago, a friend of mine and I decided that we wanted to start an online Rotary Club (we both LOVE Rotary!) that would focus on raising awareness on behaviors and projects that could help reduce climate change.  We did it (along with a little help from our friends!)   Our club is called the Earth Network Rotary Club and we have a foundation to assist us called the Earth Talks Foundation.  This is our Club's vision: to inspire a global community where everyday actions create extraordinary impact for our planet and this is our Club's mission: we connect people, purpose, and the planet—transforming learning into action to protect Earth’s vital resources of air, water, land, and energy.  

In other words.....SAVE THE WORLD!  :)

This is our annual fundraiser; I'm asking folks I know who also want to SAVE THE WORLD to chip in just a little bit to help us.  We have some great opportunities to make your dollars grow - for instance, if you donate through the monthly site, your money is tripled - so, if you donate $5/month ($60/year), our club will raise $180/year for that! Or, if you donate $25 for the one-time site, that is doubled to give us $50!

I know that money is tight these days, but if you are able to help us keep rallying volunteers and make an impact here and across the globe, even a modest amount will make a great difference.
