Earth Gives

Earth Gives was created with a simple but urgent idea: make it easier for people to support the organizations working every day to protect our lives, our communities, and the places we love.

Here in Arizona where we were founded, that urgency isn’t abstract. We’re heading into an unprecedented time of record-breaking heat. We are now seeing the realities of a shrinking Colorado River and its impact on the state's water allocation. Affordability issues crash right into climate change through rising energy bills, food costs, and our health impacted by extreme heat and pollution.

And yet—we also live in a place of incredible possibility on climate. We're talking Arizona, the country and the planet we call home.

Earth Gives exists to inspire more people to take action with and through environmental nonprofits. This sector is all about building community and getting more people like YOU involved.

When you invest in Earth Gives and through this page, you help us continue to serve organizations and communities through the only single-issue nationwide giving initiative. We make connections nonprofit to nonprofit, nonprofit to you, volunteer spirit to projects, and actionable resources to you.

• Discover and support trusted environmental and climate nonprofits - don't just pick one you know, give to one you just discovered.
• Learn from those on the front lines of the issues and advancing the solutions - register for one of the Power Play programs under "events" - they're free and virtual.
• Volunteer with one of the groups, and consider other shifts in your life – at home, work, school and beyond.
• Learn more through our EcoResources page and share great insights that should be featured there.

To tackle issues like the urban heat island, the die-off of pollinators and wildlife, the loss of quality soil to overfarming, we need you to help us boost environmental philanthropy beyond just 2%. Together we can help organizations speed and scale their work.

Earth Gives isn’t about “saving the planet.”
It’s about saving our families and their futures we hope for them.

• Being able to step outside without dangerous heat
 • Having access to clean, reliable water
 • Keeping affordable and healthy food on our tables
 • Preserving the places we love to hike, gather, and make memories
 • Ensuring wildlife, national parks and public lands, and our communities can thrive

Our return on investment is deeply personal.

It’s a walk at sunset when evenings cool down.
Protected canyons like the one we call Grand.
A meal on your favorite restaurant patio that’s still open into the summer.
A future where your kids can still go to soccer practice without suffering from extreme heat.

This work can’t be done by one organization alone.

It takes all of us.

By supporting Earth Gives, you’re helping build a growing community of people across the country who are choosing to show up—for each other, for our environment, and for the future we all share.

Testimonials

We are honored and humbled by the nonprofits from across the country that have joined our effort to create an ecosystem that, when woven together, bring all the solutions forward on climate, climate justice, and environmental stewardship. There is no one answer, there are many. We all are part of the answer. - Rhonda Bannard, Earth Gives founder, executive director

From desert landscapes of saguaro cacti to the high mountains of Appalachia, we have connected a nation of earth givers. By learning about the experiences of others, we unlock the greatest potential for change: realizing we have more in common than we might think. No matter how much our environments differ, we all have found a purpose in protecting our lands and the people and life within them. We are all earth givers. - Klara Phillips, Earth Gives Board Member, Student at Vanderbilt
