Campus Climate Network Organizing Fundraiser

As a young person, I have grown up in a time of increasing environmental destruction: worsening natural disasters, rising sea levels, increasing heat. I have seen how vulnerable communities and ecosystems, including my own family in the Philippines, have been particularly affected by these changes, and I have endeavored to do all I can to mitigate these impacts through my activism. 

One organization supporting this work is Campus Climate Network (CCN). CCN is a grassroots organization that is working to connect students across universities while providing access to essential resources to help young activists to flourish. CCN has personally helped train me and my fellow organizers at the University of Washington. Their support has been so valuable as we have worked to get the UW to cut ties with fossil fuels, providing workshops, advice, and skill trainings. They have done similar work for hundreds of students across dozens of campuses, while building a more connected movement in the shared fight for climate justice. As someone who cares deeply about building the climate movement, I am routinely inspired by CCN's work, and I am honored to get to work with them directly to help support student organizers as a Research Coordinator, helping to skill-up students investigating the influence of the fossil fuel industry on campus. 

But this work is not easy and can often be expensive. Many of us engage in activism despite the expenses, but the cost of meals, supplies, and travel adds up.
