Due to our commitment to raising public awareness about vital environmental conditions, we frequently file statements with state and federal agencies about policies and legal actions on issues related to energy, water quality, wetlands management, marine resources, climate change, wildlife habitat, sustainability, and environmental protection. The Center's board and staff have published hundreds of position statements, critiques of project environmental reviews, policy proposals, and published commentary on issues spanning economic development, energy production, climate change, and public infrastructure. Since 2018 the Center has had over 250 letters to editors and opinion columns published in local and regional media outlets, including the highly respected Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Because we prioritize collaboration, the Center has assisted in creating two riverkeeper groups. were a founding member of the Georgia Water Coalition and joined in several legal actions to protect coastal resources. The Center is an organizational member of the Georgia Coalition for Environmental Policy and Protection, and we are a signatory of the Equitable and Just National Climate Platform.
